It’s one thing to lose weight, but another to be totally comfortable in your new body. Many people embark on the journey, not knowing that it’s not going to be a cakewalk. While for many people it’s all tears of joy and new-found confidence in the end, many a times, people have to deal with a tone of side effects of weight loss such as:

1. Sagging skin.

Loose, sagging skin is one of the most common side effects of losing too much weight, too fast. Unfortunately, the best way to correct this is through surgery, which many people may not afford.

2. Weight loss may affect hair health.

Most fad diets (those that promise rapid weight loss) advocate for consuming fewer calories when trying to lose weight and this means that one may not have enough essential nutrients to add to the body, and while this may help you drop off a few kilos, it may impact your skin and hair health too.

3. Constipation.

If you’re following a certain diet, your constipation may be related to the dietary changes you have made. It’s important to add up on more fiber-rich foods, including whole grains, salads, raw fruits, vegetables and all, to get your bowels moving.

4. Your menstrual cycle may be affected.

Weight fluctuations can cause your menstrual cycle to fluctuate. It’s always good to consult a dietitian to construct a healthy diet plan for you to lose weight in a proper way without having to affect your monthly cycles.

5. You may have trouble sleeping.

What you eat on a daily basis has a direct effect on your sleeping patterns. The constant changes in your dietary plans may affect your sleep in more ways than one. To have healthy sleep at night, ensure that you’re loading up on carbohydrates along with proteins in order to make your tryptophan levels go up.
