Try out these simple and natural ways to spike up your immunity:

1. Laughter is the best medicine

Sounds strange, right? Studies have shown that a good laughter does a great job in boosting your immune sytem. So, the next time someone gets humorous, don't hesitate to laugh it out. It does not only decrease the stress hormones but also increases the immune cells and antibodies that guard your body against diseases.

2. Sleep more

Feeling guilty for spending more time in bed? Well, you now have the best excuse to sleep for some extra hours. Your body needs ample time to repair the damaged cells and this mostly happens when you are deep asleep. Sleep deprivation weakens your immune system and you should thus strive to sleep for 7-9 hours each day.

3. Get on the move

Stop lazing and take a morning run or do some squats. Whatever you choose to do is upon you as long as you exercise. Exercise helps in improving blood circulation and relieving stress thus boosting the immune function.

4. Get some sun

When was the last time you enjoyed soaking in the rays of the morning sun? You got to squeeze some minutes from your crazy schedule and catch some sunlight once in a while. Only few foods give you Vitamin D which is vital in boosting your immunity. Fortunately, mother nature gives it to all for free.

5. More citrus

Feast more on the oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits. They are rich in Vitamin C which helps in boosting the activities of phagocytes. However, since the body cannot store Vitamin C, you have to fuel it with more of it each day to boost your immunity.

6. Fish

Fatty fish such as sardines and mackerel contain essential proteins and omega-3 fatty acids that play a great role in boosting the body's immune function.

Other foods that will help improve your immune system include; ginger, kiwi, papaya, almonds, broccoli, garlic, spinach, green tea and chicken soup.
