Not all fats are bad. If you are afraid that eating fatty foods will make you unhealthy, what you need to know is that some fatty foods are actually healthy. And your body needs some amount of fat for normal functioning. So, as long as you eat healthy fats, you are good.

Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are very healthy and they include omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. If you have been avoiding these foods, it’s time you start eating them since they are very healthy despite being high in fat:

3. Fatty fish

Fatty fish contain omega-3 fatty acids that are great for the health of your heart and brain a well. Examples of fatty fish include; mackerel, fresh tuna, sardines, salmon and trout.

4. Nuts

Nuts are healthier than you probably thought. They are not just a good source of plant proteins but they are also rich in healthy fats, fiber, antioxidants among other nutrients that your body badly needs. Healthy nuts include; macadamia, walnuts, almonds among others.

5. Coconut

You can either choose to eat the coconut or use coconut oil. Although coconut contains saturated fats, its fats are different from others. The fats are metabolized differently as they go straight from the liver to the digestive tract and can be used as a source of energy instead of getting stored in the body.

6. Eggs

Eggs are a popular source of protein but people fear to consume them due to the high levels of cholesterol. All the same, eggs are high in other nutrients and important antioxidants that protect the eyes and the brain.
