While Plaza chatted with DeGeneres about the upcoming awards show, conversation soon turned to Jennifer Lopez, who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Ramona, the ringleader of a group of strippers-turned-scammers in Hustlers .

"Jennifer Lopez was nominated for Hustlers," DeGeneres said. "You should do a pole routine!"

"Absolutely not," Plaza replied, but DeGeneres' team had already constructed a stripper pole on the stage. "I don't want to do this," she said as she approached the pole with trepidation, before gamely trying her hand at the moves J-Lo so skilfully demonstrated in the movie.

Her attempt at flipping herself upside down on the pole like J-Lo, a move which requires incredible core strength and control, didn't end too well in fact, she fell off entirely and could have hurt herself pretty badly. "You're not that good at it!" DeGeneres quipped from the ground, before Plaza then managed to shimmy all the way up the pole.
