Android phones have interesting tricks that you could not be aware of. So if you are either looking at how to keep snoopers away from your phone or just appear smart in front of your peers, here are some of the hidden tricks to apply:
1. Screen Pinning
Did you know you could pin an app on your screen that will restrict other users to exclusively use whatever App you have availed for them?
For instance when you pin Chrome on your screen, a snoopers is not able to move to your Messages, WhatsApp e.t.c – as they will be confined to only use Chrome on your phone.
Here are the simple steps to do so:
First, you will need to enable the feature by going to Settings > Security and scrolling down to Screen pinning.
To pin a screen, open the app, press the Overview button and then the pin icon.
You can also choose to use a PIN to protect the pinned screen.
2. Secret Game
Android phones have a secret game that I bet you never had an idea of.
The game depends on which android version you are on. Lollipop and Marshmallow’s game is based on Flappy Birds.
Here is how to get to the secret games:
Go to Settings > About phone and tap the device’s version number several times.
You will be presented with an on-screen lollipop or marshmallow depending on your operating system. Continue to tap the center of it and the game will start.
3. Find the annoying App notifications faster
You know those apps that continually give you notifications which annoyingly appear on your screen every minute, right?
You can actually locate the particular app and get rid of it by simply long pressing on it the next time it pops up.
After the press, you’ll be presented with the notification settings for the app, which you can adjust as desired.
4. Disable Animation
Want to make your phone work faster? You can turn off the animations to improve your phone’s performance by heading to Settings > Developer options and scroll to Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale.
Disclaimer: to adjust this you will need to have first enabled Developer Mode.
5. Set automatic phone unlock when in safe places.
You can actually set your phone to remain in unlock mode when you are in places where you feel safe like home.
This option removes PINS and security codes in your trusted places where you do not need to lock your device.
Simply go to Settings > Security > Smart Lock > Trusted places and add to trusted places.
6. Erase everything on your phone once stole.
With Android Device Manager you can actually remotely ring, lock, or erase a device if it is stolen.
For this to work the phone’s location, data and/or Wi-Fi need to be turned on.
