Shock as Bungoma man is jailed 15 months after being ‘caught in the act’ performing sexual acts with hen

An 18-year old man from Bungoma has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after being caught red handed performing sexual acts with a hen.

Simiyu was last Friday caught in the act by the hen’s owner, Judith Nasimiyu, at Nandolia, Kanduyi sub-county in Bungoma.

The hen later died after the incident.

Nasimiyu presented to the court pictures and video clips she had taken while Simiyu was performing the act as evidence.

Pleaded guilty

When he appeared before resident magistrate Stephen Mogute, Simiyu pleaded guilty to the offence.

He begged the court to be lenient with him blaming “evil spirits” had come over him to perform the ungodly act.

Recently, cases of bestiality in the country have been on the rise.

Similar cases

The most bizarre in recent times was the incident in 2013 where Swedish national and 11 Kenyan women were arrested in Mombasa for engaging in illicit sex activities.

It was said that the girls were caught having sex with a German shepherd in Nyali, Mombasa county, as the foreign tourist, under the guise of a tourist visiting the country, filmed them.

Last year in July, a man in Nyamira county escaped lynching by an irate mob after he raped a goat to death.

Later that same year, a Kenya Power employee was caught sodomising a sheep in Lugari, Kakamega County.

The sheep’s owner, Mariam Chitechi, said the worker was caught in her immediate neighbor’s maize plantation committing the sexual offense.
