Plive.co.ke asked Kenyans on social media who was the best journalist among Koinange, Mohammed, NTV news anchor Larry Madowo and Citizen Business news anchor Michael Njenga, to host the debate.
Hussein received an overwhelming support with many opining that he would do a great job to moderate the debate that will be viewed nationally.
Mr Koinange came in second while Madowo was the third favourite journalist in the poll.
Husssein has made a name for himself following the recent high-profile interview he has hosted.
He has cut a niche for himself as an object journalist who asks the hard questions well.
When he interviewed Deputy Presdient William Ruto,the Prime time news anchor was congratulated for an excellent work.
A section of the public keenly following the interview commented that he did not favor the DP.
However, he received a backlash after his latest interview with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Many bashed him for not asking the hard question accusing him of being lenient with the former Prime Minister.
It is not yet known which journalists will host the Presidential debates scheduled for July 10th and 24th.
