Class two pupil allegedly commits suicide

A class two pupil was claimed to have committed suicide on Sunday in Lurambi Constituency, Kakamega County under unknown circumstances.

The body of the boy, who was a pupil at Ikonyero Primary School, was discovered by children playing around the scene of the incident.

The 8-year old child hanged himself from the roof of their outdoor bathroom.

Police who arrived at the scene, moved the body to the Kakamega County Teaching Refferal mortuary waiting for it to undergo post mortem.

David Kabena, OCPD Kakamega, remarked that it was still undisclosed why the child took his life.

Class six pupil commits suicide over TV station argument

In October 2018, a class six pupil in Kigumo sub-county, Muranga County, committed suicide after an argument with his cousin on which station to watch.

Reports claimed that the boy hung himself after the cousin switched the TV to a vernacular station.

It was further claimed that after the quarrel, the boy left the living room at around 3pm and his body was later found hanging from the roof of his bedroom at around 7 pm by his mother.
