The Directorate of Criminal Investigation announced that they had arrested one of the most wanted criminals in the country on Wednesday.

Kelson Lienga alias Kevin Lienga was arrested in Kawangware by DCI detectives.
According to the DCI, Lienga was connected to a series of crimes in the western region which includes robbery with violence and defilement.
Involvement in a series of crimes
In 2017, the suspect was involved in a series of robberies & serious assault including one in Sabatia, Vihiga County.
The DCI, in a statement, said that Lienga had been involved in chopping off the leg of one of his victims.
After the brutal crime, he was arrested, taken to court, tried and convicted (in absentia) to 20yrs.
Absent during judgement
However, the sentencing happened although Lienga failed to attend court on judgement day.
Lienga is said to have been evading the police and he still continued to commit crimes as he was linked to a series of violent robberies and organized crime.
“On 26th February and 10th April 2019, the suspect was connected in a series of violent robberies & organized crimes including one in which a 14-Year-old girl was defiled,” the DCI said.
“The suspect is directly linked to all these crimes and has been at large ever since he failed to attend court,” the statement further read.
