Details of have emerged on major changes President Uhuru Kenyatta will make in Government in 2019.

In a report by the Standard, the president is expected to make new appointments that will affect several areas including the security sector. The report said the president was expected to nominate new names to replace Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Samson Mwathethe whose four-year term will end this year and has attained the age of 60 years.

He is also expected to get a replacement for the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett as his four year term comes to an end in March 2019.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to appoint a replacement for Auditor General Edward Ouko when his 8 year term expires in August 2019.

Others that will be affected by the change include; Kenya Prisons Commissioner General Isaiah Osugo will also leave his current position this year after having attained the age of 62 years. Central Bank of Kenya Deputy Governor Sheila M’Mbijjewe, who turned 60 last year but was allowed to complete her four-year contract is expected to be replaced.

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General John Njiraini who was given a one year extension after his second and final term expired last year.

President Kenyatta is also expected to appoint new members of the National Land Commission (NLC) after the Mohammed Swazuri led commission’s six years term expires in February 2019.

He is also expected to appoint a new Managing Director for the Kenya Pipeline after the CEO Joe Sang was suspended over misappropriation of funds.
