DNA results confirm late MP Ken Okoth fathered son with Anne Thumbi

Okoth is the father

The late Kibra MP Ken Okoth (Left) and MCA Anne Thumbi

The late Kibra legislator Ken Okoth was the father of Ann Thumbi's son, DNA tests results confirmed.

According to reports, the test showed that there was a 99.99 percent accuracy that Okoth was the father to the child sired with the Nairobi MCA.

Ms Thumbi had obtained a court injunction to stop the burial and cremation of Okoth until his son was recognized and included in the burial arrangements.

The court ordered that after the DNA sample is taken on Friday, the MP interment should go on as planned.

Former PM Raila Odinga, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who had revealed Okoth had sired a child with Anne, and their legal teams were part of a meeting which resolved the standoff.

Sonko's revelation

Sonko had laid bare the details of a love affair between the late Kibra MP and Ms Thumbi, at the memorial service of the late MP at Moi Girl’s High School in Kibra.

The Nairobi governor condemned the alleged exclusion of the nominated MCA and her three-year-old son from the funeral arrangements.

He strongly stated that the three-year-old child was the late Kibra MP’s son, hence, he should be embraced and allowed to be part of his father’s final send-off.

Unfortunately today, Anita was stopped at the Lee funeral home as she took their son to pay last respect to his father. Who does that?” he posed.

Sonko urged the MP’s family to allow the three-year-old to be part of his father’s send-off as a show of respect.
