In the past few weeks, DP Ruto has been drumming up support for the Jubilee’s candidate in Kibra which is an ODM backyard.

He has challenged Kibra residents to vote for Mariga if they wish to enjoy development initiatives from the government.

Politics of Kibra

According to Dr Ruto Mariga’s victory would give the Government ample opportunity to implement development projects in the area without party politics.

The projects we have done in Kibra faced a lot of opposition; we could not work freely with the late Ken Okoth because his party would question his loyalty,” DP Ruto said.

Mariga from the onset was dubbed a Ruto candidate with opinion divided on his transition from the soccer pitch to the political ring.

He got 500 out of 600 marks, to edge out 15 other aspirants in the race for the Jubilee ticket, in interviews conducted by the party’s election board.
