The Independent and Boundaries Commission has announced at least 359, 959 job vacancies for temporary staff to assist in conducting the August 8th General Election.

In a post on their social media platforms, the electoral body said that it invites qualified applicants for various temporary positions to be engaged during the upcoming elections.

The various posts range from Presiding and Deputy Presiding Officers, Polling clerks, Logistics Officers, Deputy Returning Officers, Support Electoral Trainers (sets) and Constituency ICT clerks.

Applicants have until Thursday June 15 to apply for the jobs on the official IEBC website.

The announcement comes in the wake of the ongoing voter verification exercise which ends today; having begun on May 11.

The IEBC had hired clerks to help in the exercise that included 19,776 voter inspection clerks and 1,175 voter verification assistants who will be manning the various wards.

IEBC has so far registered more than 19 million voters even though it anticipates the number to go down once KPMG completes the voter registration and audit process.

Meanwhile, official campaigns have already kicked off and are set to go on until Saturday August 5.
