Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has announced that ODM will hold six Major rallies in the six counties of Coast region starting today.
The move is meant to neutralise the gains By Jubilee Party after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s tour in the Coast.
Joho stated that the rallies are meant to popularize the National Super Alliance (NASA) and ODM leader Raila Odinga to become the next president of Kenya.
The Governor stated that the rallies will start in Voi and culminate with a major rally at Tononoka grounds on March 27 where all ODM leaders would announce their political directions.
Joho and his Kilifi counterpart declared that Coast is an Opposition stronghold and warned Jubilee that despite their numerous trips to the region, they will be shocked during the upcoming polls.
The president concluded his visit to Coast on Monday with a number of Opposition leaders defecting to Jubilee including, Governor Hussein dado and Joyce Lay.
However, the President’s final day in coast was marred by controversies after Joho was nabbed by GSU officers and barred from attending his event as he launched the Mtongwe ferry services.
Kenyatta seemed unfazed by the incident and warned the Governor to stop joking with him or he would teach him a lesson.
