The politician affiliated to the Jubilee Party was nowhere to be seen on Saturday yet he was supposed to launch his manifesto for the Parliamentary seat.

According to report, Mr Gitau went missing on Friday evening.

Residents went on an rampage blocking a section of Waiyaki Way after his vehicle was found in King’eero sprayed with bullets.

Confirming the incident, Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya noted that they had interrogated Gitau's driver who turned himself to the police Saturday morning after he received information of the disappearance of his boss.

His sister, Grace Gitau, told police that she last spoke with him at 7pm Friday evening.

Police have launched investigations in to the alleged abduction.

Speculations are rife that the abduction could have been politically instigated.
