Confirming the incident, Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya noted that they had interrogated Gitau's driver who turned himself to the police Saturday morning after he received information of the disappearance of his boss.

Police have launched investigations in to the alleged abduction.

Speculations are rife that the abduction could have been politically instigated.
