Speaking during a public forum, Kabogo stated that the court plays a crucial role in ensuring peace and keeping dictators in check in Africa."Plans to withdraw from the ICC are uncalled for and inappropriate because the court plays a crucial role in ensuring peace in the world by putting dictators in check," Kabogo was quoted was quoted by the Standard. However, the Kiambu Governor stated the court should be restructured to ensure it doesn't target African leaders.

"I may be wrong that Kenya should not withdraw from ICC. Were it not for the court, maybe we would not have had peace in the 2013 elections in Kenya," said Mr Kabogo.Kabogo was speaking in Limuru after launching an initiative to enhance peace ahead of the General Election.Jubilee leaders have been calling for Kenya to pull out of the international based court, an idea shared by the President and his deputy William Ruto.The calls were made during and after cases against the President and his deputy was dropped following lack of evidence.

The president and his deputy were accused of playing a role during the 2007 PEV where 650,000 people were displaced while 1000 were killed.In 2016, Government announced that Kenya was yet to decide whether to pull out of the court or not.It remains to be seen how fellow Jubilee leaders will receive Kabogo's announcement considering they've been pushing for Kenya to withdraw out of the court.
