Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has finally spoken on why the National Super Alliance (Nasa) meeting failed to take place.
Rumours have been rife across political social circles after the media reported that Kalonzo had deliberately flown abroad to avoid attending the meeting with fellow co-principals ODM’s Raila Odinga, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi.
Kalonzo, who is away on Financial Times-organised investment forum in Dubai, denied media reports that there was any meeting scheduled for Tuesday between him and his co-principals.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo flew out of the country hours after Raila jetted back from a week-long visit in the US.
The action by Musyoka raised eyebrows at a time when tension is building up within Nasa as the deadline to name a flagbearer fast approaches.
Rumours circulating
Rumours have also been circulating that Kalonzo is set to jump ship from Nasa and make a post-election pact with the eventual winner of the August elections.
However, Kalonzo denied the rumours and media reports saying that no meeting had been planned by the principals.
“It’s ridiculous for anyone to say that a meeting that was neither planned nor scheduled flopped,” Kalonzo told the media while in Dubai.
He termed the media reports of a “purported flop” of a meeting that was not scheduled and which the alliance leadership has denounced were false, mischievous, ludicrous and malicious.
“It is only now that we are scheduling a meeting, certainly before the weekend. I can tell you, I haven’t seen my brother Raila Odinga since he came back from the US. He came back and on the same day I flew to Dubai for this important meeting. We spoke by phone when I arrived here,” he said.
He told his supporters that all that was part of the propaganda being waged from all manner of directions to scuttle NASA.
During Raila’s absence, Musyoka has been on a whirlwind tour across Coast and Rift Valley and Eastern regions to popularise himself as the best bet for the Nasa flagbearer’s position.
