Matiangi's message to Kenyans

There are various videos and photos of unrest circulating on social media suggesting chaos within the country

Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security, Fred Matiangi has cautioned Kenyans against circulating inciteful messages on social media.

Speaking at a press conference held at Harambee House on Wednesday afternoon, Matiang'i refuted claims that there was chaos within the country in regards to some videos and photos making rounds on social media showing chaos within the country.

"There are social media claims that we are experiencing riots within the country which is not true," he said.

He further said that those spreading such false information around social media will be dealt with accordingly.

"We have noted aggressive social media activity and we urge people to refrain from that," he continued.

In regards to the elections, Matiang'i urged Kenyans to allow the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to continue with their work accordingly.

"We should let IEBC to conclude the election process peacefully."

There were various videos being circulated showing chaos within different parts of the country including CBD.
