Tough times lie ahead of President Uhuru Kenyattas bid for the Presidency after more than 400 Jubilee politicians from Uasin Gishu vowed to withdraw support for the party.

The leaders are among those who lost during the Jubilee primaries.

They declared their dissatisfaction in the list of politicians proposed for nomination highlighting that favoritism played a huge role in selecting the leaders.

The politicians noted that they had been left in the cold yet they had worked hard for the party.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

"We cannot accept the list that is full of mipango ya kando (girlfriends) and friends of some people yet those of us who worked for the party, and even paid nomination fees, have been left out," the spokesman Phillip Chebunet said.

Speaking during a press briefing, Mr. Chebunet asked President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to intervene failure to which they will withdraw their support.

They also threatened to move to court if the proposed names were not withdrawn and a new list agreed upon.

“If they don’t consider our grievances, we will withdraw our support for party candidates and advise our supporters to make different decisions," Chebunet mentioned.

Chebunet was joined by Daniel Kemei, Nancy Chepsiya and Abraham Mutwol who echoed the same sentiments.

“We were ignored yet the President and DP asked that we back the so-called Jubilee winners during the primaries. We will withdraw the support because it’s like we are not needed," Mutwol was quoted by the Star.

They claimed that they paid huge amounts of money yet they were being sidelined.
