Muthama makes U-Turn on August elections

Muthama has shocked Kenyans following the announcement.

Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

During an interview on the vernacular radio station Musyi FM, Muthama endorsed Machakos gubernatorial Wiper candidate Wavinya Ndeti whom he had sworn never to support.

According to Nairobi News, Muthama said that Ndeti was a better choice than the incumbent Alfred Mutua.

Last month, Muthama withdrew his candidature for the Machakos Senatorial race and said he would not defend his seat citing he could never work with Ndeti and Mutua as his main reason.

During the first few minutes of the interview, Muthama discredited both gubernatorial candidates.

He said Mutua had failed the Machakos people by embezzling county funds during his four and a half year stint at the helm of the county.

On Ndeti, Muthama also said Ndeti was part of a shambolic Wiper nomination process before he changed tune and spoke in favour of the gubernatorial candidate.

In May during an interview at the same radio station, Muthama said that his political career had grown from the regional to the national level before announcing he would not defend his seat and instead divert his efforts in campaigning for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
