Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap Party is set for a mega convention for all its aspirants at the Kasarani indoor arena to discuss nominations and party structures.

Party leader Alfred Mutua who is also the Machakos Governor who spoke earlier, said the agenda of the meeting slated for Tuesday will also include strategies to develop strong and transparent structures that will guide the party.

“These structures will guide the party before, during the election period and in future,” said Mutua.

He added that his party seeks to bring real development to the people through servant leadership, justice, fairness and democratic practices.

Mutua spoke as he wound up his three-day popularisation tour of western Kenya where he met aspirants and supporters in Busia, Vihiga, Kakamega and Bungoma counties.

He said that the party nominations will be free and fair.

Mutua urged voters to elect leaders based on their development record and not on parties or tribal lines.

He said the party will support it’s aspirants with campaign materials and other resources.

Mutua enumerated the development projects that he has initiated in Machakos County saying they were meant to transform the lives of the electorate.

“That’s why I am committed to lead a party that puts the interests of the people first,” said Mutua.

Meanwhile, the Party Secretary General Steve Kilonzo has declared his interest to vie for the Kitui Senate seat.

He will now battle it out with former Sunday Standard Managing Editor Enock Wambua who is eyeing the Wiper ticket.
