Sonko, was accompanied by youth who chanted his name as they temporarily closed a section of Thika road causing traffic snarl up.

The youth, brought normal business around pangani to a halt as they cheered the Senator who presented his nominations papers for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

A section of the public complained that Sonko was causing heavy traffic along Thika road as some of the leaders addressed the youth.

On Thursday, Sonko claimed that there was a plot to lock him out of the forthcoming Jubilee Party nominations. The senator alleged that he was being denied a certificate of good conduct

“There is a senior official at OP who is behind all this; I am told the system and some top party officials have plotted to lock me out of the JP nomination.

“I know some people are hell bent to block me from contesting and I will be reaching to the President to register my frustrations,” the Senator stated.

On Friday, Sonko announced that he would be going to present his nomination papers after acquiring his certificate on Thursday evening.

"Thanks be to God. I just got my Certificate of Good Conduct this evening. The devil shall continue to be defeated in Jesus' Mighty name. I want to tell my rivals within Jubilee Party that even the so called Kibaki handlers at the OP rejected President Uhuru but he still became the President of Kenya," Sonko posted on social media.

Sonko will battle it out with former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth for the Nairobi Jubilee ticket in the race to unseat incumbent Evans Kidero.
