Sonko selected Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Polycarp Igathe to be his Deputy Governor in case he wins in the August 8 General Election.
This comes a day after the flamboyant senator paraded nine possible candidates on social media and asked Kenyans to help him make the decision.
The nine included Mr. Igathe, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, former MP Dennis Waweru, Women rep aspirant Millicent Omanga, Former Town clerk John Gakuo, educationist Janet Ouko, Dyer & Blair investments Chairman Jimnah Mbaru, and former presidential aspirant James Ole Kiyapi.

Mr. Sonko made the announcement at the Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani.
The duo is set to face off incumbent Governor Evans Kidero and his deputy Jonathan Mueke.
Speculations were rife that Sonko would either pick Mr Mbaru or Bishop Wanjiru because of their strong political background.
However, his choice came as a surprise to many with a section highlighting that it was wise to pick a business oriented person.
Mr Igathe came to the public light in February after Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge threatened to shoot him for attempting to close down his Shell petrol station along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The Vivo boss has served as the Kenya Association of Manufacturers chairman, the Managing and Executive Director of Haco Industries Kenya and the director of Mercantile Insurance Company.
