If elections were to be held today, Mike Mbuvi Sonko will emerge the winner, Infotrak has said in its latest Nairobi CountryTrak poll.
Even as senator Sonko threw his heart into the ring for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, he would be closely trailed by the new entrant for the Nairobi senatorial race Johnson Sakaja, who comes second with 25.9 per cent popularity after Sonko’s 35.3 per cent.
Out of the 800 Nairobians polled, a huge chunk amounting to 26.6 per cent are still undecided on whom to cast their vote for, way above George Aladwa’s (ODM) and Mutinda Kavemba’s (Jubilee) popularity, a meager 9.9 per cent and 2.4 per cent popularity respectively.

In the women representative race, the incumbent Rachael Shebesh would clinch her seat, with a popularity of 36.7 per cent, followed by Jubilee’s Millicent Omanga at 12.8 per cent. Jubilee’s Karen Nyamu and Beatrice Kwamboka have 2.6 per cent and 3.5 per cent respectively.

Wangui Ng’ang’a comes at 3.0 per cent popularity, with a whopping 41 per cent of the polled opining that they are yet to decide on whom to vote for.
Jubilee popular
The voting pattern based on political party affiliations would have almost tied, with Jubilee maintaining a lead at 43.2 per cent. NASA is 40 per cent popular in Nairobi. 6.2 per cent of the polled population, however, maintained that they had not decided on which party to support.
Nairobi population, surprisingly, almost took home a draw on whether they will vote in the current MPs of Nairobi, with a 41 per cent consenting to re-elect their current leaders. Another 44 per cent of the polled vowed not to re-elect their current MPs. 12 per cent of the voters are yet to decide.
