A section of Jubilee leaders led by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu have warned all independent candidates led by William Kabogo and Peter kenneth after their meeting in which they endorsed President Uhuru kenyatta. Speaking during a rally in Mandera town, Waititu stated that all independents should not seek favours from the Head of State in order to support him.The legislator, who won the Jubilee ticket for Kiambu governor's seat after trouncing incumbent Kabogo, affirmed that Jubilee had a huge support and the independents had nothing to offer.

"But I want to tell him and his group that we don’t need brokers to vote in President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Independent candidates have nothing to offer and I am ready to face their chairman on the August 8 for Kiambu gubernatorial seat just like I did during party nominations," the MP said.

The MPs, who had accompanied Deputy president William Ruto in Mandera, exuded confidence that the President and his deputy would be re-elected for a second term in office.

Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura also termed Peter Kenneth's move to run as independent for Nairobi as ill-advised.

Kabogo was elected the chairman of independents after the meeting on Saturday in which they vowed to support the Head of State

“Most of the leaders present will campaign for Uhuru but with the outcome of the primaries, we have decided to seek seats as independent candidates.”

“This will ensure that the decisions which the people of Kenya will make are respected and honoured,” Kabogo said.

However, Jubilee leaders have maintained that all losers in the party should shelve their ambition and support those who were elected by the people.
