Opposition leaders from Nyamira County gave President Uhuru Kenyatta a wide berth during his tour of the area on Tuesday.
They termed the visit as political and aimed at marketing the Jubilee Party while at the same time trying to undo ODM’s popularity in the county.
Only Borabu MP Ben Momanyi attended the presidential function.

Among those who skipped the events included Governor John Nyagarama and MPs James Gesami (West Mugirango) and Alice Chae (woman representative).
The woman representative Chae said accused the Jubilee administration of doing more harm than good.
Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who is abroad on official duties said he had just learnt of the President's visit.
"He is free to visit any party of the country but it is only fair to respect and inform the area's elected leaders," the MP said in a statement.
The County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko said the President's visit was purely a Jubilee Party affair.
Development projects
During his tour, President Kenyatta said that he strongly believed Kenyans could change the country, if only they work together as a people of one nation.
While addressing residents of Ikonge and Ekerenyo in Nyamira, President Kenyatta urged them to support Jubilee whose agenda was aimed at transforming lives through inclusive growth for shared prosperity.
He inspected the progress of construction works for the Sh3 billion Chebilat-Ikonge-Chabera road project at Magwagwa trading centre which is expected to completed in December.
He at the same time launched the upgrading to bitumen standard and maintenance of Nyamira-Igonga-Gesonso-Itibo-Kiabusura-Mwata-Botitaa-Riana-Iyabe-Ekiendege-Chisaro roads.
