Former South Kinagop MP and 1997 Ford Kenya presidential candidate Kimani Wanyoike is dead.

The veteran politician died on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment for a long illness at a Nairobi Hospital.

Mr Wanyoike was 85 years old at the time of his passing.
