The US government has issued an urgent demand to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Through its top two observers groups, US is requesting IEBC to upload all forms 34A and 34B on the website.

The groups are demanding IEBC to ensure that all forms used to declare the Presidential elections should be made available to the public.

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) and The Carter Center said the availability of the complete set of forms would enable independent verification of the results used by the commission to declare the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“This is an even more urgent matter in light of the seven-day time limit to file legal challenges concerning the announcement of the presidential election result,” the NDI said in a statement.

They added that access to official results data is critical for interested parties so that they can crosscheck and verify results, and exercise their right to petition if necessary.

This is coming at a time when National Super Alliance (NASA) has opted to file a petition in court to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

However, a section of International observers who were in the country during the election period, agreed with the elections outcome saying they were credible.
