KDF Spokesperson Speaks Hours After NASA Leaders Say He is Missing

News Just in

Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) Spokesman Col Joseph Owuoth has dismissed claims of his alleged disappearance made by NASA leaders Fred Outa and Anyang Nyongo.

Mr Owuoth rubbished the allegations stating that he was fine terming the announcement by Kisumu Senator Nyong’o and Nyando MP Outa as 'pure nonsense'.

Outa and Nyong’o caused panic after a press conference in which they stated that the KDF spokesperson  had been sent on a compulsory leave on Friday but had not been seen by his family.

Owuoth highlighted that he was also never suspended.

"I am at work. What is happening? Nonsense...nonsense...I am doing fine. Tell them I am at work, everything is fine... there is nothing wrong...I have not even been to Kisumu..there is nothing to worry about..." he said.

During the presser, Kisumu Senatorial candidate Mr Outa and Gubernatorial candidate Mr Nyong'o demanded the Government to give information on the whereabouts of Mr Owuoth.

"I also want to tell this Government that we want JM alive. We do not want to see another Kenyan who has given their life to free fair election to be intimidated or killed. By the end of today we want the Government to tell us where JM is," Outa said.

According to Mr Nyong'o, Owuoth was sent on a compulsory leave after confirming the authenticity of documents on operation Dumisha Utulivu released by NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga.

However, the KDF soldier noted they were quoted out of context and that the military is apolitical and professional.

Last week, Mr Odinga said the Opposition had evidence of an audacious plan by Jubilee and top military commanders to use force to subvert next month’s election with a rigged outcome.

Nyong'o highlighted that after Owuoth was instructed to go home but was never been seen by his family.
