A young Kenyan artist, Ms Sheila Sheldone Michaels, has secured a special visit to Uganda courtesy of President Yoweri Museveni.

Ms Sheila, 10, was invited by President Museveni to visit during her April school holiday after she gifted him with a portrait she drew of him.

Sergeant Vivian Otieno who is Sheila's mother, confirmed that the Ugandan Head of State had indeed asked the girl to make a trip to the neighbouring nation.

"Yes. It is true President Museveni accepted the gift and asked Sheilah to visit Uganda during the April holidays," Ms Otieno confirmed.

Museveni on a 2-day visit

President Museveni arrived at the Moi International Airport on Wednesday where he was received by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Mombasa Governor was also at hand to welcome the Heads of State to his county.

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was also present at the airport where she interacted with the Presidential team.

She also met with President Kenyatta in Nairobi on Tuesday, a move that has been interpreted by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed as her defection to the ruling party.
