A Kenyan police reservist and daughter were murdered by robbers while they were asleep in the house at Chepchoina village, Trans Nzoia County.

Reports indicate that the gun men broke into Zakayo Rotino’s home on Saturday night and executed him and his three-year-old daughter without stealing anything.

The reports further pointed out that suspicions were raised after unknown people had visited the area and taken photos of Rotino’s home.

The assailants are mentioned to have gone knocking on the doors of the residents in the area before they got to the officer’s house.

OCPD Shadrack Ruto stated that investigations into the incident had begun and urged members of the public to give the detectives time to do their jobs.

Ruto further disregarded claims that the killers collected the bullet shells after committing the criminal act.

In March last year, a police officer was killed by a three-man gang as he left for work.

The officer was shot dead by people believed to be members of the dreaded Gaza gang that had been terrorizing Nairobi residents especially those residing in Eastlands area.

The robbers were reported to have stolen from the officer before they executed him.

Investigations into the incident revealed that there was a possibility that the suspects might have known the law enforcer.
