Kenyatta University (KU) acting vice chancellor Paul Wainaina has disclosed that the institution is working on closing its campuses outside Kenya including those in Tanzania.

Wainaina was reacting to a decision by Tanzania Commission for University (TCU) which barred it from admitting students in Tanzania beginning September.

"We received written instructions on the same and KU was already working on the process of closing the campus, which is still ongoing and will be completed in due course," the acting VC was quoted by the Standard.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) was also part of the list that was barred from admitting students alongside 19 other institutions.
