3 people have been beheaded and several houses torched by suspected Al-Shabaab militia in new attacks in Maleli.
Lamu County police chief Gilbert Kitiyo has said that the police have been dispatched to the area to quell the militants.
Last month, the bold terrorists tried to invade a GSU Camp, just hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to do away with the terrorist group in the country.
The militants were spotted approaching the camp shortly before 1 am but were rebuffed afterwards.
”We asked them to identify themselves but they refused. There was an exchange of fire that lasted about 20 minutes before we overpowered them and they disappeared into the bushes,” a source told the press.
Another police source said that he received a text message from one of his bosses asking him to be alert because the Mokowe GSU camp was under attack.
