According to Education Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohammed, the four were found in possession of mobile phones and other unwanted material.
“We are going to be de-registering four students today who will not be allowed to continue with their exams because we actually feel they committed an omission,” Said the CS.
Reports reaching indicate that three of the four students were from Garissa County and one was from Nairobi County.
Amina said that more candidates involved in examination cheating are likely to be de-registered as soon as investigations by security agencies are complete.
The CS who did not reveal much details on the identities of the students said that the students tried to share fake information about the ongoing exams.
CS Amina further warned that action would be taken on centre managers who fail to do their jobs as required.
17 arrested
This comes after 17 people were arrested in Kisii County on Monday last week on suspicion of exam malpractice.
The arrested individuals included a KCSE examination supervisor, seven invigilators and the Deputy Principal of Moniankhu secondary school.
According to Kisii County Police Commander Benard Muli, some of the suspects were found in a house next to the school compound with copies of the real KCSE chemistry exam papers.
