Three people were killed and several others injured in two separate accidents in Naivasha on Sunday.
The two accidents occurred in Kinungi and Maai Mahiu shopping centers and left 22 people nursing injuries.
According to Standard, the first accident occurred after a Western Kenya bound bus from Nairobi hit a speed bump, before it veered of the road in Kinungi, killing a five year old boy on the spot.
In the second accident two people died when a Narok bound Nissan matatu rammed into an oncoming lorry, as it tried overtaking along the Maai Mahiu-Narok road.
The driver of the matatu died on the spot and a passenger died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Maai Mahiu.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru who confirmed the incidents said that the wrecks had been towed to Naivasha and Maai Mahiu Police Stations.
“The leading cause of accidents on our roads is speeding and we are calling on our drivers to be cautious and stop careless overtaking,” said Waweru.
