After an 8 month search, the police have finally confirmed the arrest of a man masquerading as a policeman, who threatened to kill Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
Alfie Kipchirchir made news last December when he posted a picture on Facebook threatening to kill Governor Joho.
Charles Owino, the Police Spokesman confirmed Alfie’s arrest following the various death threats that he kept on posting over the past few months.
He was also active during just shortly before and after the August elections even going a notch higher to boast about killing people in Kisumu and threatening to kill others.
Charles Owino affirmed his arrest but told the Daily Nation on Sunday that he was not aware just how far the process of his prosecution had gone, “The man was arrested about two weeks ago but the matter was now being handled by the CID( Directorate of Criminal Investigations). I am yet to get the details of his arrest, whether or not he was taken to court or even released.”
His threats are tuned towards high ranking political icons of the Opposition party and members of their targeted communities.
However, questions are being raised over his alleged arrest after a review of the criminal account last Friday shows that Alfie was still active as he posted a threat on the same day after the Supreme Court ruled to nullify the August 8 presidential election.
