Details of the lucrative position Larry Madowo is now holding at BBC

Larry Madowo's new beginnings...

Though the news was already in the grapevine that he was headed to the British public service broadcaster, details have now emerged of the lucrative position Madowo will be holding.

The journalist will be the Business Editor leading the Business unit in Africa. Madowo will be starting his new role today, April 11, 2018.

"I’m thrilled to be joining the BBC and looking forward to amplifying stories about entrepreneurship, ingenuity, and innovation that I’ve witnessed as I have travelled all over Africa.

"I grew up admiring the quality of journalism the BBC produces around the world and it is an honour to be a part of a bold new team that will tell authentic African stories for audiences across multiple platforms," he said.

Madowo started his career at KTN as a business reporter.

He moved to the Aga-Khan owned media house where he reported, anchored news, hosted a politics show  dubbed Side Bar and The Trend which was is entertainment show.
