Atwoli reveals the amount of money he has raised for 2022 Presidential election

He said in an interview

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has revealed the amount of money he has raised, for the 2022 Presidential election.

Speaking to a local daily, the vocal Trade Unionist revealed that he had already raised Sh500 million for a presidential candidate from the Western region.

Atwoli stated that the money came from the many friends he has all over the world.

“I have friends worldwide and when I approached them with the idea they gave me money wholeheartedly. We want to support one candidate for the presidency to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said in the interview.

He went ahead and cautioned that if leaders from Western cannot raise Sh10 billion for campaigns, then no one should view for presidency.

He added that the candidate for presidency will be selected through the Bukhungu declaration in 2021, after all interested candidates will have been vetted and subjected to a nomination exercise.

“We will decide who among the three (Mudavadi, Oparanya and Wetangula) and any other person who will show interest in the seat to support. But first we must raise Sh10 billion for the campaign,” said Francis Atwoli.
