Questions after Sh40 million heroin package was discovered at JKIA’s most secure area

The drugs had been concealed as Kericho Gold Tea

Police are currently investigating the circumstances under which a 23-kg consignment of heroin was discovered at JKIA’s heavily secure airside.

The package, estimated to have a street value of Sh40 million, was discovered lying unattended at the KLM airside and was reported to have been destined for Amsterdam.

The drugs had been concealed as Kericho Gold tea.

Head of police’s Anti-Narcotics Unit Hamis Massa confirmed the incident, adding that they are investigating to establish the origin of the narcotics.
