Matiang'i orders JKIA staff to go back to school

Matiang'i is not joking!

Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday morning announced major changes affecting all staff at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) when he made an impromptu visit.

Mr. Matiang'i ordered that all employees at JKIA must undergo a mandatory customer care training.

The no-nonsense minister who also serves at the Education docket in an acting capacity stated that all employees will enroll in the crash programme at Utalii college.

He mentioned that this was in a bid to improve service delivery at JKIA.

"All airport staff will undergo customer care training at Utalii College, a seven-day crash programme to ensure that we improve service delivery.

"We want to ensure order and that this place is secure. When you visit Kenya...this is your first contact with Kenya so it must be worth the while of everyone who comes into the country," he was quoted by the Star.

The CS went to the Airport in the company of his colleagues Najib Balala (Tourism) and James Macharia (Transport) to inspect the security situation.
