David Ndii unravels the past of SK Macharia's son killed in accident

RMS boss' son was implicated in multi billion fraud scandal

Through his Twitter account, Ndii shared reports of court proceedings in which the flamboyant businessman was implicated in a multi billion scandal.

In 2010, John Gichia Macharia was the subject of a multi billion case in court where he was accused of conspiring to defraud Kenya Pipeline Company a total of 1.6 billion shillings.

The two purported to have settled debts owned by the corporation to the Export Development and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.

Gichia was accused alongside his co-director at Triple A Capital, Janice Theresia Kiarie alias Terry Wijenje.

In the case, Justice Weldon Korir ruled that Triple A Capital, Mr Macharia and Ms Wijenje were subjected to an unnecessary trial and the court had to exercise its judicial authority and protect them.

Gichia survived a motor accident in 2016 when his Porsche 911 Turbo S. 2016 crashed into a Prado that was ahead of him along Waiyaki way.

He was arraigned at Nairobi traffic court after failing to follow a traffic officer's order to blow into a breathalyzer where he pleaded guilty and was fined Sh25000.

John Gichia Macharia was pronounced dead at Karen hospital on Thursday night after his Porsche 911 Turbo S. 2016 was involved in a freak crash along Southern bypass.

Other than being the son of media mogul SK Macharia, the deceased was had interests in business and was the director of Direct Line Insurance Company.
