Pauline disclosed that the reason she met up with the illustrious politician was because of her role in NEPAD where she serves as a communication officer. NEPAD (The New Partnership for Africa's Development) is an economic development program of the African Union (AU) whilst Raila is the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa

“I work for NEPAD as a communication officer, a job I have held since September 2013. Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) is one of the programmes that we run. Now that explains the nexus between Mr Odinga and I. If anything, Monday wasn’t the first time I was meeting Mr Odinga,” Ms Njoroge told Edaily.

After sharing the viral photo with the NASA leader, Pauline had indicated that despite their rocky past, they had let bygones be bygones in the spirit of the handshake and Africa’s integration.
