Matiang'i reveals the One Mistake made by Most KCSE candidates that proved costly

Matiang'i said that the mistake led to mass failure in 2017 KCSE exams.

The no-nonsense CS noted that students never elaborated on questions that demanded so while some even wrote lists.

“The examiners reported that some of the questions that tested candidates’ ability to DISCUSS or EXPLAIN certain concepts that they had learnt were poorly answered, with many candidates either listing or providing sketchy answers,”  Matiang'i stated.

The Education CS attributed this to sketchy revision books and inadequate language skills to answer questions.

Matiang'i announced that from next year the Government would supply textbooks directly to High Schools which would help prepare the students for exams adequately.
