Kenyans waited for the 2018 Fifa World Cup with baited breath. However, some have been met with disappointment as they cannot watch certain matches on their screens for free.
Unlike the previous years when Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) showed all the matches of the World Cup, the station is not airing the 2018 games being played in Russia.
Here is why
On Tuesday, the public broadcaster finally explained why it was not airing the Fifa World Cup 2018.
Speaking during a press conference, KBC heads said that it was being asked to pay unrealistic amounts of money to broadcast all the 64 matches.
A section of the public have been depending on NTV to follow the games. Nonetheless, frustration has hit them when they realized that the Aga Khan-owned station was only showing 32 matches.
So far, 14 matches have been played.
