CS Matiang’i Embarrassed by his brother

Matiang'i has been shamed by his own brother over his new orders.

KNUT National Treasurer John Matiang'i took a swipe at the no-nonsense CS after he directed the dissolution of boards of primary and secondary schools that share a compound maintaining that such schools will have one principal and two deputies.

Consultations

The KNUT official opposed the directive noting that there must be consultations before such a move can be made. He added that if the minister was going in the wrong direction he must be told.

"He (Fred) should know that there is (need for) consultation, akienda kombo tutamuambia,” Matiang’i brother said.

Echoing the same sentiments was KNUT Deputy Secretary Charles Katege who noted that CS Matiang’i was issuing unilateral orders against the Education ACT.

8-4-4 System

“The matter of school registration is captured in the Act which was passed in Parliament after stakeholders gave their input. Primary and secondary schools are registered separately. Matiang’i can’t change that with directives,” Katege said.

Speaking at a Headteachers Meeting in Mombasa, KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion also opposed the new orders by the Education CS including the new curriculum meant to scrap off 8-4-4 system.

A visibly angry Sossion mentioned that the new curriculum is bound to fail if consultations are not made.
