2 dead, several injured in Narok disaster

This comes days after the Narok-Mai mahiu road de-linked due to heavy rains

Two children died in a Saturday evening in a landslide that left several others injured in Esongori in Narok County.

According to Citizen, the two children aged between 6-8 years old suffocated to death.

The landslide that was caused by the heavy downpour the country has been experiencing left the children’s parents with minor injuries.

Melelo ward MCA Philemon Aruasa said more than 10 families had been displaced and are in dire need of emergency services.

According to Oleshapani location Chief James Kerorei, plans are underway to evacuate the affected families.

Just recently heavy rains and floodwaters completely cut off the busy Nairobi-Narok Highway at Mai Mahiu area making the section completely impassable after the road was de-linked.
