Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has appointed former Harambee Stars striker Dennis Oliech to the Nairobi County Sports Committee.

Oliech, who had an illustrious football career, was appointed alongside former Harambee Stars Captain Musa Otieno.

Governor Sonko, made the announcement on Tuesday through his twitter account after he assented to the Nairobi County Sports Management (Amendment) Bill 2018, which gave way for the formation of the County Sports Committee.

“Assented to Nairobi City County Sports Management (Amendment) Bill 2018. The Bill gives way for formation of County Sports Committee that will oversee sports development in Nairobi. I’ve nominated ex-Harambee Stars players Musa Otieno & Dennis Oliech to be part of the committee,” read Mike Sonko’s tweet.

Oliech's appointment comes barely three months after he was reported to have found a club in South Africa, having stayed for three years from competitive football.
