Moses Kuria’s warning to Auditor General after High Court ruling

This come after the High Court allowed the Auditor General to audit KDF,NIS and Kenya Police

In a post on his Facebook page, Kuria warned that it was against tradition in all jurisdictions and a way to create a conducive environment for a coup attempt as he asked him to decline the invitation.

“Judiciary has ruled that Auditor General can audit confidential military and security matters. This is against traditions in all jurisdictions. Yet another invitation to interfere with our disciplined forces and create a conducive environment for a coup attempt. To my very good friend and professional colleague Edward Ouko, decline that invitation. You will thank me later,” read the MP’s post.

High Court Judge Justice Chacha Mwita had on Friday declared section 40 of Public Audit Act number 34 of 2015 on the auditing of national security organs and dozens of others within the act, as inconsistent with the provisions of the constitution.

The ruling allowed the Auditor-General to use his constitutional mandate to audit and report on the money allocated to the National Intelligence Service (NIS), the Kenya Defense Forces and the Kenya Police Service.
