I have not quit, Njoki Chege speaks

Earlier reports indicated that Njoki would quit Nation Media Group (NMG).

In her weekly column, Ms. Chege also dismissed hearsays that she will be exiting the Aga Khan-owned media group.

“Contrary to reports by bogus bloggers, I am happy to report that I am absolutely, positively, not terminating this column – at least to the best of my knowledge, neither am I leaving the media group,” she firmly stated.

Njoki, who is known to handle controversial social topics in a hard-hitting manner, clarified that she will be changing the format and tone of her columns.

"I will say what I meant to say in black and white. City Girl is all grown up now. She is changing her content, expects her to be less controversial and more thoughtful," she noted.

The Ph.D. student emphasized that City Girl is simply rebranding.

Njoki’s perceived departure was attributed to the mass exodus witnessed at NMG in the past few weeks.
