On Friday evening, Mr. Igathe shocked Kenyans when he stated that he will be resigning from his position as the Deputy Governor of Nairobi.

He revealed that among the things that led to him to resign is lack of trust between him and Governor Mike Sonko.

Igathe claimed that he has failed to earn the trust of Governor Mike Sonko to enable him to serve the people of Nairobi as promised during campaigns.

“Dear Nairobians, it is with a heavy heart that I resign my seat as elected Deputy Governor of Nairobi City County effective 1 pm on 31st Jan 2018,” read his letter.
